"""A Bridge to Somewhere"" The Meridian Bridge has linked South Dakota to Nebraska for about three-quarters of a century. The historic span was the last link in the meridian highway that stretched from Winnipeg, Canada, to Mexico City. The community united to build the bridge across the Missouri without help from the federal government. After the debt was retired, the bridge was given to the states of South Dakota and Nebraska. Lois Varvel and Kathy Grow are writing a book about this unusual bridge."
