"""Water in the Bank"" Decades of misuse have taken their toll on many riparian areas (river and stream banks) in South Dakota. A healthy riparian area will slow runoff, reduce erosion, filter water and provide habitat for animals. With the help of the USDA, the South Dakota Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Ducks Unlimited, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and other agencies, The East River Riparian Project is helping landowners find solutions for healing and stabilizing these important areas."
